Our Story
Atlantis Medical was founded by Dr Vikram Jayaprakash, who trained at the University of Southampton Medical School and developed a professional interest in hair restoration. Following more than a decade of collaboration with Dr Russell Knudsen at The Knudsen Clinic, Dr Jayaprakash established Atlantis Medical in 2021 with a focus on hair restoration treatment and patient-centred care.
Since its establishment, Atlantis Medical has remained dedicated to the assessment and management of hair loss through surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Dr Jayaprakash is one of a small number of doctors in Australia to hold Board Certification from The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). This commitment to ongoing professional development, personalised treatment planning and patient care continues to guide the clinic’s approach to hair restoration.

Dr. Vikram
Dr Jayaprakash recognises that hair loss affects individuals in different ways and that treatment decisions are personal. Treatment recommendations are based on individual assessment, patient goals and clinical suitability. Depending on the circumstances, treatment options may include medical, surgical or regenerative approaches, which are discussed during consultation and tailored to the individual patient.
Trained at the University of Southampton Medical School, Dr Jayaprakash gained experience across a range of medical disciplines, including critical care. He later developed a professional interest in hair restoration and trained under the guidance of Dr Russell Knudsen, continuing to work alongside him at The Knudsen Clinic for more than a decade. Dr Jayaprakash performs both FUE and FUT hair restoration procedures and has undertaken ongoing training in hair restoration surgery through professional education and industry organisations.
He is one of a small number of doctors in Australia to hold Board Certification from The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).
He is also one of a small number of doctors in Australia to have attained a Fellowship in Hair Restoration Surgery (FISHRS) through The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
